Vipassana is a meditation technique that has its origins in ancient India some 2500 years ago. The word and technique Vipassana means 'to see things as they really are'. It has been used for thousands of years as a non-invasive effective remedy, for a number of universal ills and problems.
Vipassana focuses on self -transformation through self-observation and on the deep interconnection between mind and body, experienced directly, and with disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and the condition of the mind. It is an observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of the mind and body, aimed at dissolving mental impurities to achieve a balanced mind full of love and compassion. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results.
